What is CompuSport CSR?
CompuSport CSR is tournament and league rating system used mostly for the VNEA league system. The ratings vary from 1000 (beginner) to 2200 (professional). It works by doing sequential updates to your rating after each match you play (see How CSR Works).
A much better player rating system is FargoRate because it uses a holistic statistical optimization based on all games played by all people in the system. A FargoRate rating can be approximated from a CSR rating by subtracting 1200 from the CSR rating. A better approximation can be found from the table below.
If you don’t have a CSR or FargoRate rating, you can approximate your rating with playing-ability tests like the Runout Drill System (RDS) or the Billiard University (BU) Playing Ability Exams. They assess a wide range of important pool skills in a methodical, thorough, and consistent way. They also provide a numeric and descriptive rating.
